Sponsored content policy

How sponsored work on Corridor 99 is labelled, and what sponsors can and cannot do.

Corridor 99 may publish content paid for by a business or organisation. Here is how it works.

How it is labelled

  • Sponsored pieces carry a “Sponsored” label at the top of the page and on every card that links to them, along with the sponsor’s name.
  • Links to the sponsor carry the rel="sponsored" attribute.
  • Claims made by the sponsor are attributed to the sponsor (“according to the company”), not stated as our findings.

What sponsors can do

  • Propose a topic and supply information, images they own the rights to, and contact details.
  • Review the piece for factual accuracy about their own business before it is published.

What sponsors cannot do

  • Buy a place in an editorial guide, a ranking or a news story, or buy their way out of one.
  • Appear in The Sound, our news report. Sponsored content never runs there.
  • Review or change editorial coverage that is not sponsored.
  • Ask us to make claims we cannot verify, including health, safety or environmental claims.

Standards still apply

Sponsored content follows the same rules as everything else we publish: no invented quotes or experiences, free-licensed or sponsor-owned photos with credits, and AI-generated images only as labelled illustrations. We can decline any sponsorship.

Display advertising

Display ads, including those served by Google AdSense, are placed automatically by the ad network in marked ad slots. They are not endorsements, and advertisers do not influence editorial content. See our privacy policy and cookie policy for how ads use data.
