Trails
The six bridges on the Sea to Sky South Trail between the Train Wreck trailhead and the Cheakamus Suspension Bridge have been replaced. The work finished ahead of the original schedule, according to the RMOW weekly update for Oct 19. The final phase is tied to the Cheakamus Lava Escarpment and Sea to Sky Trail geosites through the Sea to Sky Fire & Ice GeoRegion Society.
The Rainbow Lake Trail reopened after summer work replacing the Gin and Tonic and A-Frame bridges, as reported in the Oct 12 weekly update.
A separate closure affects the Sea to Sky Trail between Nairn Falls and Rutherford Creek through Oct 23. See Sea to Sky Trail closed between Nairn Falls and Rutherford for details. For broader seasonal changes, see Sea to Sky winter: what changes.
On the water
The River of Golden Dreams is closed from the new fish weir near Alta Lake to the CN rail portage because of low water, to protect developing fish embryos.
Paddlers still have options. You can put in at the bottom of Lorimer Road, or take out at the new weir and follow the 600-metre portage trail to below the CN rail tracks. Details are in the Oct 19 weekly update.
Village and parking
The Whistler Village Stroll is partly fenced for structural concrete repairs. The affected section has detour signage in place. Parkade D is partly closed until Oct 26, and the overall project is expected to be complete by Nov 19, according to the Oct 19 weekly update.

Recreation and parks
Meadow Park Sports Centre has two items to note this week.
The pool area (lap pool, leisure pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna) is closed Saturday, Oct 24 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a swim meet. The lap pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna reopen at 7:15 p.m. The leisure pool stays closed until the next day.
The Meadow Park playground and spray park are closed for construction until Nov 30.
Separately, wildfire fuel management in the Kadenwood treatment area is temporarily affecting some Creek Zone trails of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park through November. Work along the Highway 99 east side between Bayshore Drive and Spring Creek Drive continues through October. Signs are posted in the affected areas.
On this week and next: Whistler Wine Walk
The Whistler Wine Walk runs Fridays in October from 6:00 to 8:15 p.m. The remaining dates are Oct 23 and Oct 30, 2026.
Tickets are $29 per person and the event is 19+. Advance tickets are required. Four guided walking routes pass through Whistler Village galleries, with three stops each, ending at the Audain Art Museum (4350 Blackcomb Way) for canapés, music and a curatorial tour.
Check the official event page for availability. The Tourism Whistler media release has more background.
