Haunted house

The Brackendale Art Gallery runs its House of Nightmares from October 16 to 31. The multi-room setup uses live actors, special effects and jump scares throughout. Two scare levels are available: a soft-scare walkthrough with lighter frights, and a full-scare experience for anyone who wants the real thing.

The BAG says the haunted house sells out every year, and walk-up admission is not guaranteed. Book through Eventbrite ahead of time. Check times when booking, as the page does not list nightly hours or specific age guidance.

The on-site Zephyr kitchen will be open with Halloween-themed food and drink specials during the run.

Kids and families

Family Halloween events in the Sea to Sky run from Britannia Beach to Whistler across all three weekends.

The Boo Revue is a blacklight musical puppet show on Tuesday, October 20 at the Maury Young Arts Centre in Whistler. Two performances run at 3:45 pm (doors 3:15) and 6:45 pm (doors 6:15). The show is all ages, recommended for children four and older, and runs about 50 minutes followed by a 15-minute puppet meet-and-greet. General admission is $25, members $20, and a four-pack is $90. Be aware of total darkness, strobe lighting, fog and loud noises; the audience stays seated throughout.

Halloween at Britannia: Machines, Monsters & Mischief takes over the Britannia Mine Museum on two weekends: October 17-18 and October 24-25. Programming is included with regular admission and features a special underground train tour, Monster Machines installations in the Machine Shop, a monster scavenger hunt, and live science demos including Exploding Pumpkins and Magnetic Slime.

Sea to Sky Gondola Trick-or-Treat runs Sunday, October 25 from 12 to 3 pm on the Spirit Trail at the summit. It is free with a lift ticket or annual membership (one is required). Bring your own treat bag and dress in layers; the event runs rain or shine. Strollers are not advised on the trail, though the Gondola says alternatives will be available for families who need them. If you are combining this with a full visit, our Sea to Sky Gondola guide covers what to know before you go.

The Fairmont Chateau Whistler lists Halloween at the Chateau for October 31 on its events hub, but 2026 programming details have not been posted yet.

Adults (19+)

Adult Halloween events in the Sea to Sky include horror film screenings, a bar crawl and parties from October 28 through Halloween night.

The People’s Film is screening two horror classics at the Maury Young Arts Centre. Scream (1996) plays Wednesday, October 28 (doors 6:15, film at 7 pm; 19+; from $10, cocktail packages available). The Rocky Horror Picture Show follows Thursday, October 29 (doors 6:15, film at 7 pm; 19+; from $18, cocktail packages available). No latecomers admitted to either screening.

The Fright Crawl is a Whistler Village bar crawl running three nights: Thursday, October 29 and Friday, October 30 at 7:30 pm, and Saturday, October 31 with a day party from 1 to 8 pm and a night crawl from 7:30 pm to 1 am. Anyone of legal drinking age with valid government photo ID can join, and costumes are expected. The organiser hasn’t listed the participating venues and says stops can change.

Halloween Party @ The BAG puts a DJ inside the haunted house on Saturday, October 31. Doors open at 9:30 pm. DJ NRQI, costume prizes and drink specials fill a 180-person capacity room. Advance tickets are $15; the organiser has sold out the past three years, and there are no door tickets if advance tickets sell out first.

A Very “Handsome” Halloween at Alpine Cafe in Whistler runs Saturday, October 31 from 7:30 to 11:30 pm with Sgt. Pepper’s “Handsome” Hearts Club Band and rock-star costumes. It sold out as of October 12.
